  1. Animal Control
  2. The purpose of the county Shelter is to impound or harbor seized, stray, homeless, abandoned or unwanted animals.
  3. Clerk of the Circuit Court
  4. In keeping with tradition, therefore, Virginia has saved its citizens significant tax dollars by combining judicial and administrative functions into a single office.
  5. Combined Courts
  6. The King George Combined District Courts are comprised of General District Court, Traffic, Criminal, Civil Divisions and Small Claims Court; Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, which includes Juvenile Traffic, Delinquency, Custody/Visitation, and Status Offenses; and Domestic Relations, which includes Misdemeanors, Felonies, Capiases/Show Cause, Civil Support and Criminal Support.
  7. Commissioner of the Revenue
  8. The Commissioner’s Office is responsible for all phases of Personal Property and Business Tangible taxation, assessments of Real Estate, processes and audits State Income Tax returns and Estimated State Income Taxes.
  9. Commonwealth's Attorney
  10. The Commonwealth Attorney's Office annually prosecutes crimes committed in King George County.
  11. Community Development Office
  12. Our Mission is to provide Quality Customer Service.
  13. County Administration Office
  14. The County Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer of County government and is accountable directly to the Board of Supervisors.
  15. County Attorney's Office
  16. The County Attorney's Office provides legal representation to the King George County government, departments, agencies, constitutional officers, Service Authority, and the L. E. Smoot Memorial Library in all civil legal matters.
  17. Economic Development & Tourism
  18. King George is one of Virginia’s fastest growing counties, yet it remains primarily rural with a current population of 26,704.
  19. Engineering & Public Works
  20. The Department of Engineering and Public Works provides professional engineering, construction administration, and inspection services to King George County and the King George County Service Authority.
  21. Finance Department
  22. The Finance Department's primary functions include financial reporting, debt management, internal audit, accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, fixed asset reporting, procurement, budgeting and risk management.
  23. Fire, Rescue & Emergency Services
  24. The department is a combination volunteer and paid department comprised of many dedicated men and women.
  25. General Properties
  26. The mission of the General Properties Department is to provide efficient, responsive and quality janitorial, facility maintenance, grounds maintenance and snow removal services in support of all users of County grounds and buildings - both public and staff - in a professional, proactive and effective manner and in conformance with the highest standards set for similar operations.
  27. Geographic Information System (GIS)
  28. The GIS Office maintains all GIS data and provides mapping and analysis to County staff, board members, and citizens.
